2. Lucy Liu - Visual Artist

Lucy Liu rose to stardom for playing Ling Woo in the drama series Ally McBeal. She also appeared as Alex Munday in Charlie's Angels. While enjoying a lucrative acting career, Liu now dabbles in the world of visual art with works spanning from painting to collages.

3. Danica McKellar - Mathematics

Best remembered for her portrayal of the precocious Winnie Cooper in the beloved series The Wonder Years, Winnie Cooper has now shifted from acting to mathematics. Actually, McKellar graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in mathematics. She even published several math books, including "Math Doesn't Suck" and "Hot Algebra Exposed!"

4. Gary Dourdan - Show Business

Gary Dourdan is mainly known for his portrayal of Warrick Brown in the popular CSI series. After the franchise, he also participated in several video games. However, you may not know that Dourdan had been in show business since 1991, and even made an appearance in the popular Cosby Show spinoff, A Different World. Nowadays, Dourdan is an occasional DJ, and he also collects classic cars.

5. Tony Danza -  English Teacher

This famous actor and former professional boxer was the star of Taxi and Who's The Boss. Walking away from acting, Danza currently works as a 10th grade English teacher in Philadelphia. During his years of teaching, Danza had a few choice words for the public, most importantly that we owe ALL educators an apology. He even had his teaching career filmed for the A&E reality show Teach: Tony Danza, to bring awareness to the current state of education.

6. Jim Carrey - Painting

This crazily humorous actor rose to fame with hit classics like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber and The Mask in the early 90s. In recent years, Carrey has slowed down his acting career to pursue what he calls "an unstoppable urge" - painting. "There's not a day that goes by that I'm not covered in paint," Carrey confessed. He even has his own solo exhibit at a Las Vegas gallery.

7. Jack Gleeson - Academia

After portraying the evil King Joffrey Baratheon on the hit show Game of Thrones, this poor Irish lad became the object of everyone's hatred. After his character was killed, Gleeson decided to retire from acting permanently, and has since returned to his studies. He now studies philosophy and theology at Trinity College in Dublin. He ultimately wants to be a philosophy professor.

8. Mara Wilson - Writing And Philanthropy

This child actress is remembered for hit movies like Matilda, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Miracle on 34th Street. Despite having a promising acting career, Wilson moved instead on to writing and philanthropy. She wrote a book called Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame, telling her child star experiences. Currently, she also works for a nonprofit called Publicolor, devoted to promoting the positive effects of color in schools.

9. Steven Seagal - Deputy Sheriff

This well-respected martial artist was mostly known for his portrayal in films like Under Siege, Above the Law, and Executive Decision. Always giving off the air of a guy you wouldn't want to mess with, Seagal now serves as a New Mexico deputy sheriff, fighting crime for real.

10. Andrea Barber - Education

The lovable nuisance Kimmy Gibbler in the timeless '90s sitcom Full House truly did make deep impression on the hearts of a generation. However, Barber then shied away from acting to attend Whittier College in California. After graduation with a degree in English, she went on with her education at the University of York in the UK. Now Barber serves as the director of the international study program in her alma mater.

11. Peter Ostrum - Veterinarian

The kid who dazzled audiences as Charlie Bucket in the 1971 hit movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory finally decided acting wasn't for him. With a real affinity for animals, Peter went on to receive a degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He's now a vet specializing in large animals, horses in particular, in New York.

12. Sarah Michelle Gellar - Cooking

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star is still slaying the acting world, but she's now mainly dedicated to her other passion - cooking. In 2015, the erstwhile actress co-founded her own startup FoodStirs, selling baking kits for children. In 2017, Gellar co-authored a cookbook entitled Stirring up Fun with Food which helps make cooking a family event.

13. Freddie Prinze Jr. - Chef

Like his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, this erstwhile teen heartthrob who starred in movies like She's All That and I Know What You Did Last Summer has now transitioned from acting into the food business. In 2016, he released his first cookbook called Back To The Kitchen, described as 75 delicious, real recipes (and true stories) from a food-obsessed actor.

14. Nikki Blonsky - Makeup Artist

Nikki Blonsky quickly became a household name for her portrayal of Tracy Turnblad in the massively popular 2007 film Hairspray. In 2010, she rode the wave of success to star in the ABC Family show Huge. However, Blonsky felt frustrated at the lack of roles for plus-sized women in Hollywood. To make ends meet, she became a makeup artist and hairdresser in a salon.

Frankie Muniz became an instant favorite in the '90s for his portrayal of the titular character on the show Malcolm in the Middle. Although he starred in numerous films and shows over his acting career, Frankie shifted gears to become a race car driver. In 2012, he even participated in the Atlantic Championship. However, it was revealed that an accident caused him to suffer severe memory loss in 2016.

The former Growing Pains star wrapped up his acting career to become a man of faith - an evangelist. Nowadays, he is dedicated to his co-founded ministry The Way of the Master. As Topanga in the popular '90s sitcom Boy Meets World, Danielle Fishel has always given off an air of a confident girl that is capable of just about anything. After the series wrapped up, she transitioned to become the host of satirical news show The Dish. This adorably chubby Chunk from the classic 80s film The Goonies doesn't have to do the Truffle Shuffle anymore. Disliking being the token fat-kid actor, Cohen eventually became a lawyer in Los Angeles. He is also a founding partner of his own law firm Cohen Gardner LLP in Beverly Hills.

Mostly known for her performance on Saved by the Bell and the controversial Showgirls, Elizabeth Berkley appeared in quite a few films, TV shows and stage productions throughout the '90s and '00s.
